Embossed Fall Pocket Shawl CAL

“And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves.”

 --Virginia Woolf.

Time for a NEW Bonita Patterns Crochet Along (CAL)!

Pocket shawls or reader wraps have been the trendiest yarny accessory of this season. I love shawls of all kinds, so I sure had to give my "two cent designing opinion" on this one. I hope you like my take on it...

Fall is Extra Special to me...

As many of you know, I grew up in Brazil, moreover, in a city right near to the Equator (Recife), where the only weather I've ever known for most of my life was Summer year-round. It was either sunny most of the time or,  raining during "winter". The change of color on leaves (as well as snow... another story) was so alien to me that it only existed in foreign movies or famous paintings (high five, Monet!).

The Design

This pocket shawl is made using a fun technique that minimizes color changing and other annoyances (aka: weaving ends) by using a self-stripping and a solid color yarn in a smart way.

I made this sample piece with our yarn Bonita Yarns Chromatic in Delphinium +  Woolicious Light Grey colorways. We have this and MANY other lovely CAL yarn kit color combos that I wish I had more hands and time to try.  Since I don't, I'll live vicariously through you!
